Film & Feast
From humble beginnings in 2010 of three attendees (including Elvis the Hound Dog) and a documentary screened on a laptop, Film & Feast has grown into an anticipated event for food, education and entertainment on the third Thursday of every month.
We show the best environmental documentaries we can get our hands on (and project them on a big screen!) Recent Film & Feast nights have featured The Corporation, Garbage Warrior, Just Eat It, Cowspiracy, Polyfaces, Inhabit: A Permaculture Perspective, Putuparri and the Rainmakers and David Attenborough’s Great Barrier Reef. We’ve also hosted such high-calibre speakers as Annie Leonard From The Story of Stuff, Australia’s favourite “off-grid guy” Michael Mobbs, Helena Norberg-Hodge of The Economics of Happiness, and Costa Georgiadis from ABC’s Gardening Australia.
These fascinating films and presentations are accompanied by a delicious vegan feast or potluck cooked from local organic produce delivered by Ooooby (Out Of Our Own Back Yards) and harvested from our community garden at 241 Bondi Road.
Come along on the third Thursday of the month to nourish your body, mind and soul with delicious organic food, inspiring films and speakers, and engaging conversations. In 2017, Film & Feast moved to the Margaret Whitlam Recreation Centre in Waverley Park off Bondi Road. For details and exact location of the next Film & Feast, visit our Events page.
