ATTN: Garden Update
To all our Community Gardeners and Composters, as Covid-19 ensues, we have made the decision to close the garden.
The garden is part of a land share arrangement and we need to consider our own health and that of the residents that live there. We all have a responsibility to help minimise the risk of spread in our community. This means postponing mid-week gardening slots, weekend garden bees, and putting the composting system on hold, so please refrain from dropping off your veg scraps at this time.
On the bright side there should be lots of compost ready for use on return, and we might get a pleasant surprise seeing how the plants take things into their own hands.
We are, however, still here (online) and striving to support you and the community. Please send us your queries, questions and suggestions about growing food at home. What better time to start a herb box on your window sill, grow beetroots on your balcony or start a worm farm or compost bin? We has copied some resources below. Together as a community we can pull together to get through this, and maybe even come out with a lot more locally grown food at the other end.
Kit and Jade are also working on an online seed workshop that you can join, to learn and share, and have some fun from the comfort and safety of your own home. Stay tuned!
