Wrap up! Inner Transition: Non-Violent Communication
Wrap up from our online Inner Transition workshop collated by Jade Peace. Photo by Priscilla Du Preez on Unsplash.
Well, we had our first event via Zoom! I for one was pleasantly surprised, I had been feeling rather anxious about how such an event, focused on expressing feelings and needs, would work over the internet. However I came away with my needs for connection, purpose and community filled up! Thank you to all the participants for taking part and sharing.
NCV in a nutshell, is building a meaningful connection that leads to us giving willingly to each other! – if this intrigues you please read on and follow the links.
Below are some of the resources we looked at during the workshop (plus a few extras we didn’t have time for) so you can begin to explore the wonderful world of NVC in your own time.
Videos
This is a 3 hour video from a workshop by Marshall Rosenberg (the founder of NVC) – it’s long but I found it very engaging, funny and full of wonderful learnings. A great overarching introduction to NVC.
Youtube video showing section of the film Beyond Belief. A 3m interview with Marshall Rosenberg about his work in zones of conflict
Youtube video that shows you How to solve Conflict by Cup of empathy
You tube video 3 min with Yoram Mozensen, about using NVC for an environmental issue
Resources
Here are links to the feelings and needs inventories from The Centre for Nonviolent Communication website. A valuable resource for your NVC journey.
Books
Kit shared a lovely reading from this book during our workshop; Living nonviolent communication: practical tools to connect and communicate skillfully in every situation by Marshall Rosenberg, From Sounds True, Boulder Colerado. 2012.
“The Ongo Book” is a guide through 12 weeks of NVC practice. There is also a website full of useful resources and discussions, you can register for free.
There are plenty more videos, books and resources online, so go exploring and see what you find 🙂
In fact Kit and I would love to check in for a regular little NVC practice, would any of you be interested in joining us?
Have a wonderful day everyone.
Warmest,
Jade
