A wider view of the Transition movement…
By Kit Shepherd
Transition Bondi is like a hair on an elephant – tiny! We sit within the broad network of Transition Australia. And there is a world-wide movement – the Transition Network – that spans the globe.
Recently I was on a panel for a Day of Transition Practice, which continued for 24 hours as the earth turned. Clusters of people from Africa, Asia, South America, Europe, UK, and Scandinavia, the Middle East, US, Australia and Canada were represented to share what they’ve been doing and to inspire
others.
Three of us from Transition Australia spoke about our program called Stories of Transition. The SoT program takes place three times a year, and brings people from groups around our country, to speak on a panel about who they are and what they do. NSW, Qld, WA, Vic and Tas have been represented; the NSW ones that we’ve included so far have been Sustainable Living Armidale, Transition Dubbo and Pocket City Farm in Camperdown in Sydney.
