Sprout To Be Alive Podcast
You don’t need to speak German to listen to Lance Lieber being interviewed by Urania Berlin.
The history of Urania Berlin is as long and complicated as the history of the city it was founded in. The founders of Urania Berlin were 19th century astronomers, thus the name Urania. It is a not-for-profit organisation supported by the Berliners. They also generate income from hiring out their state-of-the-art venue for events. Urania Berlin main task is to disseminate the latest scientific findings in all fields of knowledge to the public.
Lance Lieber’s interview is part of series they are producing titled, “Sprout To Be Alive” in which they talk to people in different cities about urban gardening and how groups and individuals endeavour to implement sustainable practices in their urban environment. Lance’s interview is an excellent listen for those of us who want to find out how people in suburbia strive to mitigate the effects of climate change and its impact on humans, plants and animals. It is also a reminder to all of us of how green the city of Sydney is when compared to other modern cities. However, there is still so much to be done in our ever-sprawling suburbia in order to become more self-sufficient and resilient in the face of any serious climate catastrophe. Find out more of what’s been happening in our neck of the woods to create greener living spaces and to become more in tune with the natural world.
